Here's my car all decked out for a contest
If you're not familiar with roving, it is an aspect of amateur radio contesting, involving driving, setting up and taking down antennas and radio gear, operating radios, and sleep deprivation. The object of radio contests is to make contact with as many different stations from as many different locations using as many different radios as possible. If it sounds weird, it is! Some people have strange hobbies. The real motivation behind contests is emergency preparedness. If we are practiced, we can quickly set up relay stations to pass emergency messages. If you would like to learn more about ARRL Amateur Radio contests, please visit the ARRL Contest Page or the MGEF Web Page.
